About

Hey, I’m Jing Lan. I am a Computer Sciences PhD student at University of Wisconsin-Madison. I’m fortunate to work with Prof. Ming Liu at NetLab.

I obtained my MPhil degree from CUHK and BEng from Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU). I spent two years (one as leader) on HPC competitions with SYSU Student Cluster Competition (SCC) Team.

Research Interests

I have a broad interest in building efficient distributed systems.

  • Aug. 2024. Joining UW-Madison for PhD study!
  • Nov. 2021. We won champion (against strong teams UIUC, ETHz, Monash and TAMU) in IndySCC@SC’21, virtually at St. Louis, MO, USA. News
  • Oct. 2021. I won the Second Prize (3/65, with ~$9,000 cash bonus) in the CP2K track of PRA’21, a national competition made by Sugon, Baidu, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
  • Jul. 2021. We won the 4th place & Honorable Mention in SCC@ISC’21, virtually at Frankfurt, Germany. News
